Our legacy

Image description

Our story begins long before we founded Del Álamo Family Vineyards. It dates back to the summers of our childhood, in the 1980s , when we would ride our bikes along the dirt roads to help our grandfather in the vineyards, while he was green pruning. It was our way of connecting with the land, the countryside, and a tradition that is part of our identity .

However, the true origin of this project dates back to 1933 , when our grandfather, José del Álamo de la Llave , a farmer by vocation, planted his first vineyards in his homeland. To this day, we still preserve some of those original vines , a living symbol of our legacy .

In 1987, Alfonso Cuéllar Rodríguez , our father, took over the care of the vineyards and expanded the area under cultivation . It was then that we incorporated new, internationally recognized grape varieties, focusing on diversity and quality.

In 2015 , the third generation— Alfonso, Daniel, and Emilio Cuéllar del Álamo —took over management of the family project. Our goal: to produce wines with their own character, taking care of every detail from the vine to the glass. Starting in 2020 , we decided to take a further step: building our own winery, Del Álamo Family Vineyards , due to be completed in 2025.
